Staff Research Assistant II, Full-time position, $22.67/hr – $28.76/hr + benefits. University of California Cooperative Extension, Monterey County. Assist research on practices to improve irrigation and nutrient management of vegetables and berries, and farm water quality.  Assist in coordinating outreach efforts, including workshops and trainings.  Assist with summarizing research findings into scientific journal, newsletter and trade journal articles.  Assist with the development of the online irrigation and nutrient advisory tool, CropManage.  Knowledge/coursework of irrigation, water science, plant science and/or soil science, environmental science, and experience in field research, statistical analysis desired.  Should have a strong interest to learn field research and vegetable/berry production, and ability to work outdoors for long hours. Experience with irrigation equipment, electronics, and computer programming also helpful. Excellent written and oral skills needed. California driver’s license required and ability to lift at least 50 lbs. This is a staff position and not eligible for visa sponsorship or relocation assistance.
